Maker Club: 1st-5th grade (Arvada)

Maker Club is a 12-session art course for 1st–5th graders who want a creative outlet to build meaningful 2-D and 3-D projects with guidance from an experienced instructor. It takes place at artSPARK Creative Studio (6644 Wadsworth Blvd) in Arvada. Kids can explore drawing, painting, printing, collage, sculpture, fiber arts/hand sewing, and sensory/creative play, using single or mixed media. The class emphasizes experimentation—taking risks, learning new processes, collaborating, and getting inspired by others. Each semester shifts focus based on the group’s interests, so the materials and processes evolve. Demos and lessons are provided, but projects are flexible—students can follow prompts or pursue their own ideas. Work is tailored to each child’s comfort level and experience, and students go home with varied art. Families are invited for the last 15 minutes of the final class for an Artist’s Celebration. Enrollment is encouraged early, as sessions may be canceled if fewer than 5 participants are registered 24 hours before the start.
