From Image to Story: A Writing Workshop

When a work of art resonates with our own experience, we recognize it. Through that recognition, we begin to build meaning, connection, and understanding.

Join Fireside Ink Writers Workshop for a unique writing workshop inspired by Off the Page at the Dairy Arts Center. Using artworks from the exhibition as a starting point, participants will explore personal narratives through guided writing prompts, close looking, and conversation. This workshop invites writers of all levels and genres to discover how visual art can open a doorway into their own stories while deepening our sense of shared community.

Surrounded by the artworks of Off the Page in the McMahon Gallery, attendees will reflect on the images that resonate most deeply with them and use those responses as a springboard for creative exploration. Through a series of guided exercises, participants will uncover personal connections, memories, and stories inspired by the work on view.

You’ll leave with fresh writing, new tools for creative reflection, and a deeper appreciation for the ways art can help us better understand ourselves and one another.

No prior writing experience is necessary. All genres and experience levels are welcome.
