In the Shadows

In the Shadows is a curated art exhibition at Union Hall that reclaims immigrant stories through contemporary artwork. Curated by Italu Ramos Hernandez, it draws on the idea of “living in the shadows” to explore invisibility, silence, and resilience. The show centers themes of memory, displacement, belonging, and identity beyond partisan political narratives. Featured artists include Carmen Lizardo, Golnar Adili, Katie Mongoven, Ruth Alvarez Luna, and Sammy Lee. It’s designed for anyone interested in art, culture, and immigrant experiences—especially those seeking deeper, human-centered perspectives. The exhibition challenges conventional ideas about legality, recognition, and who is allowed to belong. Visit during open gallery hours Wednesday through Saturday, 12–6pm.
