Knife Fork Spoon

Knife Fork Spoon

Knife Fork Spoon is a design exhibition at the Denver Art Museum that explores the hidden stories and cultural impact of everyday flatware. The show, titled *Knife Fork Spoon: Everyday Tools, Extraordinary Design*, presents about 150 flatware sets spanning 1900 to 2026. It highlights how knives, forks, and spoons evolved as designers responded to new materials, technologies, and changing dining habits. Expect a timeline from hand-finished silver of the Gilded Age to midcentury stainless steel and today’s digitally produced utensils. The exhibition combines works from the Denver Art Museum’s collection with major loans from collector Dung Ngo. Featured designers include Eliel Saarinen, Jean Puiforcat, Russel Wright, Gio Ponti, Jens Quistgaard, Isamu Noguchi, Lella and Massimo Vignelli, Philippe Starck, and Zaha Hadid. It also includes newly commissioned works by contemporary designers such as Rafael de Cardenas, Johnston Marklee, and SO–IL. It’s ideal for design lovers, museumgoers, and anyone curious about how everyday objects shape the way we eat and live. (Dates and ticket pricing aren’t provided in the description.)
