Choice City Running Festival
The is Northern Colorado’s signature summer running weekend — a two-day celebration of community, movement, and classic road racing in the heart of downtown Fort Collins.
The festival kicks off Friday evening with the high-energy Jane Welzel Mountain Avenue Mile, a fast, slightly downhill point-to-point race featuring wave starts for kids, walkers, youth runners, open runners, masters athletes, wheelchair racers, and elite competitors chasing cash prizes under the summer lights. Saturday morning continues with the Human Race Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, taking runners and walkers through scenic city streets, along the Poudre River Trail, and into one of Colorado’s most vibrant running communities.
More than just a race, the Choice City Running Festival is a summer tradition built around finish lines, cheering crowds, live music, local vendors, post-race food and drinks, and the shared experience of moving together. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking your first 5K, racing the mile, or spending the weekend with friends and family, there’s a distance and experience for everyone.
