Your Amazing Aging Body: From Sleeping Cells to Moving Brains
Aging happens to all of us, but the way we age is shaped by much more than the number of candles on the cake. Join a lively team of CSU scientists from the Department of Health and Exercise Science to explore on-going work in the Human Performance Clinical Research Laboratory examining how sleep, nutrition, physical activity, metabolic function, and brain health influence our ability to remain healthy, mobile, and independent throughout life. Through interactive demonstrations, audience challenges, and engaging stories from the lab, we’ll examine how researchers are using exercise and diet to help prevent and treat disease, uncovering new ways that cells communicate, and developing strategies to preserve movement and mobility. Designed for curious minds from ages 10 to 90, this program will make cutting-edge science approachable, practical, and fun. Come prepared to move, think, ask questions, and discover what science is teaching us about living not just longer – but better.
