Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications, this position will serve within the Athletic Communications office with primary responsibility for supporting the Track & Field program. The Athletic Communications Associate will assist in the day-to-day communications efforts for the program, including media relations, content creation, and event coverage, while gaining exposure to the overall operations of a Division I athletic communications department.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The Athletic Communications Associate will be responsible for the following:
• Assist with media relations efforts for the Track & Field program, including writing and editing press releases, meet previews and recaps, updating rosters and bios, and maintaining accurate statistics and records.
• Support home and select away Track & Field events, including statistics coordination, media credentialing, post-event results' distribution, and serving as a point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, and media.
• Assist with general Athletic Communications office duties, including archival projects, research, record-keeping, and support of other sports as assigned.
What We Can Offer
Starting pay is $18.90/hr.
Benefits Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute. Some evening and weekend work required based on competition schedules.

What We Would Like You to Have
• Previous experience in athletic communications, sports information, journalism, or a related field
• Familiarity with track & field or cross country scoring, terminology, and competition formats
• Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and college athletics operations
• Experience working with statistical software or meet management systems is a plus
• Experience working communications within CU Boulder Athletics.
