Overview At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, and inclusive staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support Division as an Administrative Specialist. The Administrative Specialist will support a phone team and answer basic client questions about their assistance programs (Food Assistance, Medicaid, Colorado Works, etc.). This position is part of a team expected to deliver excellent customer service while handling a high volume of calls per day. This position will also require interacting with the public for extended periods over the phone and transferring calls to more skilled technicians as required. This position requires a very structured schedule, including breaks and lunches. The expected starting salary for this position is $23.5200/hour. New hires must complete 12 weeks of on-site training before becoming eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities What you'll be doing: • Interpreting County and departmental policies, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries. • Conducting necessary research and routing complex matters appropriately for further interpretation. • Accepting and processing plans, specifications, forms, legal documents, applications, and other materials in line with legal and procedural requirements. • Composing and preparing responses to various communications, particularly when information is factual or based on established policies and procedures. • Entering and maintaining data in computer systems or databases; proofreading entries and correcting errors; generating standard reports as needed. • Providing excellent customer service, particularly to clients via phone. Administrative Specialist I : 23.5200/hr - $27.0829/hr • Must be at least 18 years of age. • One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required. Administrative Specialist II: $24.0788/hr - $28.8946/hr • Must be at least 18 years of age. • One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
