💛 Ways to Give Back in Boulder This Holiday Season

💛 Ways to Give Back in Boulder This Holiday Season

Feeling grateful this time of year? Boulder has lots of ways to turn that good energy into real impact — whether you want to lend hands, brains, or big-picture skills.

Here are some community-loved ways to give back, straight from locals who know what actually helps:

🤝 Support Neighbors, Directly

  • Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA)

A Boulder favorite for a reason. They help families with food, housing, and financial stability — and they’re always open to volunteers with operational, tech, or organizational skills.

  • All Roads

A shelter and services hub for unhoused neighbors. Hands-on help and behind-the-scenes support both make a difference here.

  • Bridge House

Focused on employment and pathways out of homelessness — great if you like skill-building and mentorship-style volunteering.

🥕 Food, Clothing & Mutual Aid

  • Food Not Bombs

Community-powered and impact-heavy. They serve tens of thousands of meals a year and welcome help with logistics, coordination, and operations.

  • Cultivate

Super organized, flexible, and welcoming. Support older adults through food access, rides, and friendly connection.

📚 Education, Kids & Civic Impact

  • Boulder Public Library

Volunteer as a tutor for citizenship classes or high school equivalency prep.

  • I Have A Dream Foundation

Long-term mentorship and educational support for local students.

  • City of Boulder Boards and Commissions

Want to help shape Boulder’s future? Advisory boards are a meaningful way to give back at a civic level.

🌱 Nature & Capacity Building

  • Thorne Nature Experience

Get kids and families outside while supporting environmental education.

  • Social Venture Partners Boulder County

Perfect if you enjoy strategy, collaboration, and helping nonprofits grow stronger behind the scenes.

However you show up — once a week or once a season — thank you.

Boulder runs on people who care, and giving back (especially during the holidays) is one of the best ways to feel part of this community.

Have a favorite organization we should spotlight next? Pass this along to a Boulder buddy and keep the good going. 💚

🏛️ City Completes First-Ever Community Assembly

The City of Boulder and Boulder County have wrapped up Boulder’s first Community Assembly after seven months of meetings focused on 15-minute neighborhoods.

Forty-three randomly selected residents met over seven Saturdays to study the concept and deliver recommendations to City Council and the Planning Board on Dec. 11. Their work included a Boulder-specific definition, 15 majority recommendations, and guiding principles centered on accessibility, housing choice, and community connection.

The recommendations will help shape the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan, with a draft expected in March 2026 and final adoption planned for summer 2026.
