What’s Happenin’ is growing — want to join us?
Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 177,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.
As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.
If you love supporting local businesses and want to help grow these newsletters, just reply to this email and tell me a little about yourself.
🌱 Tree Seedling Giveaway (And Why You Should Care)
This Saturday, April 18, Boulder is handing out free tree seedlings and native plants at the Farmers Market—and it’s more than just a feel-good freebie.
Planting a tree might seem small… but it’s actually one of the most powerful things you can do for your community.
🌎 Here’s why it matters:
Cooler neighborhoods: Trees provide shade and reduce heat—especially important as summers get hotter
Cleaner air: They absorb pollutants and produce oxygen (yes, your future self says thank you)
Water conservation: Tree roots help manage stormwater and reduce runoff
Wildlife support: Native plants + trees = better habitats for birds, bees, and local ecosystems
Property + community value: Tree-lined streets aren’t just pretty—they boost home value and overall quality of life
And in a place like Boulder—where outdoor living is basically a personality trait—trees are part of what makes the city feel like Boulder.
🌿 What to expect at the event:
Free tree seedlings (first come, first “treed”)
Free native plants from CSU Master Gardeners
Experts on-site to help you pick the right tree + learn how to care for it
Info on volunteering with local tree programs
It’s all happening:

⏰ 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
This event also celebrates Boulder’s 43rd year as a Tree City USA—so yeah, trees are kind of a big deal around here.
