🎁 Junkyard Holiday Art Market: Shop Local, Spread Joy
Saturday, Nov. 29 · Junkyard Social Club · 12–5 pm
Still coasting on leftover stuffing and that warm “I-love-my-community” Thanksgiving glow? Perfect — because Boulder’s most delightfully quirky holiday market is popping up this Saturday, and it’s the ideal place to turn that generous spirit into something real (and locally made).
Step into the Junkyard Social Club’s Holiday Art Market, where imagination, community, and holiday cheer collide in the best possible way. Think handmade gifts, funky junk-art sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, textiles, toys, original prints — and this year, a whole youth-artist zone featuring the next generation of Boulder creatives. (Prepare to be impressed — or to wonder why a 12-year-old is more talented than all of us combined.)
Expect live music from Flowermancer and Santa’s Guitar, festive drinks, tasty snacks, and all the cozy, chaotic, makes-you-smile energy Junkyard is known for. Kids can roam the playground or dive into holiday crafts while you browse, sip, and shop your way toward feeling like an extremely thoughtful person who supports local artists.
And the best part?
It’s free for adults, and no advance ticket is needed — just show up with your generous, post-pie self.
This Saturday, let’s gather in the spirit of art, community, and giving. See you at the Junkyard!

Library District Cuts Staff & Security Amid $4.4M Revenue Drop
The Boulder Public Library District will cut security at three branches and reduce staffing after revenue fell by more than $4.4 million heading into 2026.
Fewer guards and fewer staff come as library use is up 25–30% across the district — creating real concerns for patrons and employees, especially during an active unionization effort.
No dedicated security next year at Meadows, Reynolds & Gunbarrel branches.
Security budget cut 44% (from $830K → $462K).
11.5 staff positions eliminated; most were vacant, but two layoffs confirmed.
Cleaning contract likely ending; custodial work may shift in-house.
Board will discuss unionization Dec. 2.
Security could be restored if incidents rise — but for now, 2026 will operate with a leaner, tighter library system.
