Where to Shop Local Before the Holidays Hit 🎁
For the Thoughtful Gifter: If you’re shopping for someone who loves to slow down or learn something new, Boulder’s got you covered. Liberty Puzzles Pearl offers beautifully hand-cut wooden puzzles (yes, they’re as satisfying as everyone says), Boulder Bookstore is a no-fail stop for book lovers, and Food Lab + Colorado Glass Works turn gifts into experiences with cooking and stained-glass classes you can actually do together.
For the Fun & Festive Crowd: Lean playful with Into the Wind (kites, toys, and joyful chaos), Gabee Coffee, where coffee lovers can sip their way through a Cup of Excellence tasting class. These are the gifts that come with stories baked in.
For the Treat-Yourself Types: Go indulgent with Boulder Spirits’ tasting boxes, LOV’D’s custom denim fittings, or Chocolove’s holiday chocolates—locally made and dangerously easy to overbuy. Bonus: all of these support Boulder businesses while helping you cross off your list before the clock (and shipping deadlines) run out.

Local Happenings
Dark Horse Stays Open a Little Longer 🍻
Boulder’s iconic Dark Horse Tavern has been granted a demolition reprieve and will stay open through at least mid-March.
The agreement keeps dozens employed through the holidays and lets the bar celebrate its 51st anniversary before closing.
Redevelopment of the Williams Village II site is still moving forward, with plans for a new Dark Horse space later on — but for now, the taps stay on a bit longer.
🍽 Not sure where to eat tonight?
Our Restaurant Finder takes the guesswork out of dining by showing you the best local restaurants based on real reviews and vibes, not just ratings. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a date-night spot, we’ve got you. No endless scrolling, no decision fatigue...just solid recs.
🧠 Need a brain break?
Play trivia, crosswords, and word searches built just for locals. These games aren’t just fun...they’ll test how well you actually know your city. Great for killing time, learning something new, or proving you’re the true local legend.
☕ Who’s Pouring the Perfect Cup in Boulder?
Boulder’s got more cozy nooks and fair-trade pour-overs than we know what to do with — so let’s settle this, one caffeine-fueled vote at a time. Which café truly awakens your soul (or at least your morning)? ☕✨
🎄 One Last Thing…
If you find something great, grab two—you’ll thank yourself later. Shopping local keeps Boulder weird, creative, and thriving, and it usually comes with way better stories than a tracking number.
Keep the recs coming, keep voting, and if there’s a place you’re convinced belongs on the next list, just hit reply. I really do read every single one.
Forward this to a fellow last-minute shopper and consider your good deed done.
Catch you Wednesday with more Boulder goodness.
