What Do You Love Most About Denver? 💛
Let’s take a breath from the doomscroll and celebrate the good stuff. We asked around, and Denverites had plenty to smile about—from sunshine-soaked winters to secret music spots and bike paths that seem to go on forever. Here’s a feel-good roundup of the things that make living here, well… lovely.
☀️ 300(ish) Days of Sunshine
Snow one day, 60° and sunny the next. Low humidity, big blue skies, and evenings that feel tailor-made for patio time.
🚲 Trails For Days
From Cherry Creek to the South Platte, you can hop on a bike or take a long walk and link up miles of greenways with minimal car traffic. Weekend joyrides, weekday errands—doable.
🌳 Pocket Parks Everywhere
Little paths, flower beds, and tree-lined blocks tucked into every neighborhood. Sunflowers on a random corner? Yup. Secret fairy gardens? Those too.
🎶 Music Scene That Punches Above Its Weight
Red Rocks gets the headlines, but locals rave about smaller rooms—Ogden, Bluebird, Gothic, Cervantes, Hi-Dive, Lion’s Lair—where the sound is huge and the shows feel personal.
🖼️ Big-City Culture, Easy Access
Hit the Denver Art Museum, Clyfford Still, MCA Denver, History Colorado, DMNS, Kirkland, Wings Over the Rockies—and yes, you can often snag free museum passes via local libraries.
✈️ DIA Makes Getaways Easy
Tons of direct flights, smooth connections, and a terminal you can actually navigate. Weekend trip energy: unlocked.
🦋 Fewer Bugs, More Breeze
If you’ve ever lived through humid summers with mosquito swarms… you know. Colorado’s dry air is a lifestyle.
🏞️ Mountains in Your Backyard
Foothills hikes, lake days, hot springs, ski laps—most within 30–120 minutes. Even inside city limits, those west-facing views never get old.
🍔🍺 Evolving Food & Drink
From green chile to ramen, bakeries to breweries, the scene keeps leveling up. Cozy neighborhood spots, farmers markets galore, and a burger game that delivers.
🧑🤝🧑 People Who Actually Say Hi
It’s a big city with small-town manners. Neighbors swap garden veggies, let you merge in traffic, and strike up conversations just because.
🏟️ Sports & Events, Year-Round
All the major teams, festivals nearly every weekend, and a calendar that somehow stays full through every season.

🌄 Until Next Time…
Denver love hits differently—maybe it’s the 300 days of sun, the fact that you can see the mountains from your grocery store parking lot, or that perfect moment when your favorite artist announces a Red Rocks show. Whatever it is, this city makes it hard not to feel grateful. Keep celebrating the bright spots, keep exploring, and keep sharing the local goodness that makes Denver home.
Trivia Answer: A) The 13th step of the Colorado State Capitol is exactly 5,280 feet above sea level.
Well… mostly true! It was originally marked as the official “mile-high” spot, though new measurements later found even more accurate spots nearby. Still, the 13th step remains an iconic Denver landmark and a must-take photo for locals and visitors alike.
We’ll be back Wednesday with more events, eats, and good energy from around the metro. Until then—be kind, drink water, and don’t forget to look west at sunset. 🌅
