This one’s not your average start to the week. The city’s got something brewing today that goes way beyond your typical Monday plans.

Today’s edition of What’s Happenin’ is stacked—but don’t worry, it won’t take 12 years to read…just 5 minutes of the best things happening around Denver, like:
• A citywide 4/20 takeover you can’t ignore
• One of the most iconic Red Rocks lineups of the year
• A Monday that somehow feels like a full-on weekend

Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 177,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.

As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

If you love supporting local businesses and want to help grow these newsletters, just reply to this email and tell me a little about yourself.

Denver’s 4/20 Goes Big — From Civic Center Clouds to Red Rocks Legends

Denver’s 4/20 Goes Big — From Civic Center Clouds to Red Rocks Legends

If Denver ever had a holiday that feels especially Denver, it’s this one. Monday, April 20 is shaping up to be a full-day choose-your-own-adventure, with one celebration in the heart of downtown and another carved straight into the rocks. Whether you’re here for the party, the nostalgia, or just the people-watching, this is one of those days the city fully leans in.

Start downtown at the Mile High 420 Festivalďżź, taking over Civic Center Park from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This 21+ event brings the energy with two stages, vendors, experiential zones, and plenty of food and drink options, plus a lineup featuring Juicy J, That Mexican OT, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and Trap Dickey. General admission starts at $30+, while VIP is for anyone wanting the fast lane, front-of-stage access, and a few extra perks.

Then when the sun starts to dip, the move shifts west for Ice Cube & Snoop Dogg at Red Rocks at 7:00 PM. Honestly, it does not get much more iconic than these two at one of the most iconic venues in the country. It’s the kind of Monday night that makes Denver feel less like a city with plans and more like a city throwing a full-on moment.

This lineup gives April 20 two totally different flavors — festival chaos in Civic Center and legendary West Coast hip-hop under the Red Rocks lights. You could pick your vibe, or really commit to the holiday and make a whole day of it. Either way, Denver is not exactly easing into the week.
