Happy Monday, Denver ! 🧩🎉

Somehow we’ve already reached the part of spring where a random Tuesday can turn into a full-on street festival downtown. This week’s lineup involves shopping, food, music, and enough local flavor to make your after-work plans suddenly look way more exciting — keep reading because this Cinco de Mayo celebration is bringing serious energy to LoDo.

What’s Happenin’ is growing — want to join us?

Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 275, 000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.

As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

🎨 LoDo’s Turning Into a Giant Open-Air Mercado This Week

🎨 LoDo’s Turning Into a Giant Open-Air Mercado This Week

Cinco de Mayo in Denver always brings the energy — but this year, McGregor Square is turning things all the way up. Between the handmade goods, tequila specials, tacos, and a Rockies game happening right next door, this might be one of those “accidentally stayed out six hours” kinds of evenings. Honestly, if you’ve been looking for an excuse to wander around downtown with a margarita and buy cool stuff you definitely don’t need but absolutely want… this is it.

🌮 Mercado at McGregor Square

📍 McGregor Square Plaza | ⏰ Tuesday, May 5 • 3 PM – 9 PM | 🎟️ Free

McGregor Square is bringing serious fiesta energy to LoDo with an open-air Mercado packed with local Latinx-owned artisan vendors, live vibes, food, drinks, and Rockies baseball playing on the jumbotrons all evening long. Think handmade jewelry, embroidered apparel, pottery, art prints, self-care goods, and enough color and culture to make your Tuesday feel like a mini summer festival.

Here’s a peek at some of the vendors popping up:

  • 🎨 EastLosArte — Chicano-inspired art, prints, and collectibles

  • 🪴 Big Head Pottery — Handmade ceramics, ramen bowls, mugs, and planters

  • 💍 Jaded Crow Jewelry — Stone carvings and handcrafted jewelry

  • 👗 Mactzil Boutique — Modern Mexican-inspired clothing and accessories

  • 🖤 Refried Rockabilly — Hand-painted jackets and rockabilly art

  • 🌙 Luna Rosa Designs — Bright handmade jewelry and accessories

  • 🍫 Azomalli — Mexican cacao shell tea

  • Fab Faces — Face painting and henna tattoos

And while you shop:

  • ⚾ Rockies vs. Mets playing live on the big screens

  • 🥃 50% off premium tequila from La Loma

  • 🌮 Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos from Ta-Co

  • 🎶 Latin beats and packed downtown energy all evening

What makes events like this so fun in Denver is how naturally the city blends sports, food, art, and community into one giant hangout. One minute you’re browsing handmade pottery, the next you’re eating tacos while hearing cheers erupt from Coors Field next door. Very Denver behavior, honestly.
