Happy Wednesday, FoCo fam,

Fort Collins just dropped one of its most interesting updates yet—and it’s already getting people talking. At first glance, it sounds like something straight out of a sustainability brainstorm gone a little too far. But the details? Weirdly convincing… you’ll want to read this one closely.

Would you support this “new parking system” in Fort Collins?

Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 177,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.

As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

If you love supporting local businesses and want to help grow these newsletters, just reply to this email and tell me a little about yourself.

🅿️ Fort Collins Replaces Parking Meters with Goats

🅿️ Fort Collins Replaces Parking Meters with Goats

In a move city officials are calling a “bold step toward sustainable urban grazing,” Fort Collins announced this morning that all downtown parking meters will be replaced with… goats.

Yes, real goats.

According to the (very official-sounding) press release, the new “Goat Meter Program” aims to reduce the city’s carbon footprint while supporting local agriculture. Instead of inserting coins or using an app, drivers will now “pay” by feeding a stationed goat a small portion of approved snacks—think carrot sticks, apple slices, or specially branded “FoCo Feed Packs” available at nearby kiosks.

City planners say the goats will also double as “community engagement ambassadors,” helping bring people together in shared moments of… parking-related joy. Each goat will be assigned to a block and monitored by a new division of Animal Parking Enforcement (APE), ensuring goats are well-fed and no one tries to sneak by without contributing a snack.

There are even talks of surge pricing—during peak hours, goats may require “premium treats” like kale or locally sourced produce.

Pilot programs are expected to roll out in Old Town first, with early reports suggesting the goats are already outperforming traditional meters in both compliance and vibes.

Officials encourage residents to “bring exact snacks” and remind everyone that overfeeding may result in extended parking privileges… or just a very happy goat.

🎤 Blast n Bowl (Free Show + Bowling = Yes Please)

If your Wednesday night needs a little more energy (and maybe a little bowling), this is your move.

Blast n Bowl is taking over Chipper’s Lanes with a full lineup featuring Cadzo, Freshman Philosophy Majors, and Funscreen—hosted by Dracula the Rapper. It’s a free hip-hop show with a super casual, come-and-go vibe, plus the option to bowl while the music’s going.

Here’s the play:

  • 🎶 Live hip-hop/rap lineup all night

  • 🎳 Unlimited bowling during the show (~$15 + shoes)

  • 🍺 Reserve ahead = free Odell draft, soda, or fries

  • 🍔 Full food + bar available

  • 🆓 Show entry is completely free

📍 830 N College Ave

⏰ 8:30 PM – late

It’s part concert, part hangout, part “why not bowl mid-set?” kind of night.
