Something big is supposedly heading our way—and it’s the kind of news that feels almost too wild to be true. You’re going to want to read this one all the way through…

What’s Happenin’ is growing — want to join us?

Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 177,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.

As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

Casa Bonita… but Make It Longmont?

If you thought Longmont couldn’t get any more iconic… think again.

Word on the street is that Casa Bonita is expanding north — and not in the way you’d expect. A “cozier,” more intimate version of the legendary spot is reportedly taking over a former neighborhood staple, promising all the chaos… just slightly closer to home.

Here’s what’s “confirmed” (according to sources):

A scaled-down cliff diving experience — perfect for those who want thrills without the full splash zone commitment
A “fast-casual sopapilla bar” (yes, bottomless still rumored 👀)
Fewer caves… but apparently more mysterious tunnels?
And a new concept: “express gorilla encounters” for guests on a tight schedule

The proposed location? A converted Applebee’s, because nothing says “authentic Colorado dining experience” like dinner where half the tables used to be 2-for-1 apps.

No official opening date yet… but insiders say construction crews have been spotted installing “vibe-enhancing waterfalls” and testing a Bluetooth-enabled puppet show system.
