Longmont’s Saturday Is Off to the Races
Happy Friday, Longmont!
This weekend has the kind of lineup that makes your calendar start sweating. Bring your comfy shoes, your festive spirit, and possibly the largest hat you legally own — things are getting lively.
What’s Happenin’ is growing — want to join us?
Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 275,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.
As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

Beer had its moment… now it’s brunch time.
We’re opening voting for Best Brunch in Longmont, celebrating the spots that turn slow mornings into something worth waking up for. Think breakfast burritos, stacked pancakes, strong coffee, and patios that fill up fast.

Play trivia, crosswords, and word searches built just for locals. These games aren’t just fun...they’ll test how well you actually know your city. Great for killing time, learning something new, or proving you’re the true local legend.

Derby Day Meets Cinco de Mayo Weekend
Longmont is going full celebration mode this Saturday, May 2, with Derby parties, community traditions, live music, good food, and a whole lot of “which event do we hit first?” energy.
🎉 Longmont Celebrates Cinco de Mayo 2026
📍 Roosevelt Park | ⏰ 10:30 AM–6:00 PM | 🎟️ Free
→ This family-friendly celebration honors Mexican culture, diversity, and community connection with music, dance, vendors, food, kids’ activities, a car show, Chihuahua contest, break dance competition, and more. It’s alcohol-free, tobacco-free, marijuana-free, and working toward zero-waste — so bring that refillable water bottle.
🐎 Longtucky Derby Party
📍 Abbott & Wallace Distilling | ⏰ 2:00–9:00 PM | 🎟️ Free
→ Press the suit, fluff the hat, and prepare for full Derby-day drama. Expect mint juleps, Hot Browns, the legendary Hat Contest, the Rody Relay, and live country music from The Dirty Edge from 6–8 PM.
🌹 Kentucky Derby Watch Party
📍 The Passenger | ⏰ 10:00 AM–8:00 PM | 🎟️ Free
→ Come early for brunch, cocktails, happy hour from 2–6 PM, and the main race around 4:57 PM. Bonus points: there’s free jazz at 5 PM, because apparently Derby Day needed a saxophone solo.
🎩 Kentucky Derby Party Benefiting TLC Learning Center
📍 The Fox Hill Club | ⏰ 1:00–5:00 PM | 🎟️ $90
→ A spring fundraiser with auctions, bourbon and cigar sampling, food, and Derby fun — all supporting the TLC Scholarship Fund for local kids and families.
🏇 VIP Watch Party: 2026 Kentucky Derby
📍 Winner’s Circle | ⏰ Starts at 10:00 AM | 🎟️ $50
→ Guaranteed mezzanine seating, a Derby-themed buffet, and a complimentary mint julep or drink of choice. Dress up, settle in, and enjoy the race-day energy without fighting for a seat.
