Hey there, Longmont !

Looking for a trail that feels like Longmont’s backyard adventure? The St. Vrain Greenway stretches 8 miles, weaving together parks, ponds, and open spaces into one scenic route. Whether you’re biking, fishing, or just strolling at sunset, this “crown jewel” of the city’s trail system is the perfect way to slow down and soak up the outdoors.

The St. Vrain Greenway is part of which ambitious regional trail system that will one day connect Wyoming to New Mexico?

If Longmont had a “greatest hits” album, the St. Vrain Greenway would be track one. Stretching about 8 miles from Golden Ponds all the way to Sandstone Ranch, this trail ties together parks, ponds, schools, and neighborhoods into one scenic ribbon of adventure. Whether you’re biking, strolling, fishing, or just out to spot wildlife, this greenway is a reminder that Longmont’s backyard is basically a natural playground.

The Greenway is also part of the Front Range Trail project, which someday will connect Wyoming to New Mexico — meaning your casual Sunday bike ride is technically part of a multi-state mega-trail. Pretty cool, right? Trailheads are scattered across town (Golden Ponds, Roger’s Grove, Boulder County Fairgrounds, and more), so it’s easy to hop on wherever you are.

🎣 Pro tips: bring your fishing pole if you want to cast a line at Izaak Walton Pond, grab your camera for the stunning wetland views near Sandstone Ranch, and remember — no dogs east of County Line Road to protect wildlife habitat.
