Happy Monday, Longmont!

Ben here — and the curtain is about to rise on one of our most cherished holiday traditions — The Nutcracker with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and Boulder Ballet. Tickets are already moving fast, and yes, the beloved sensory-friendly “Gentle Nutcracker” is back too.

If you’re ready for twirling snowflakes, toy soldiers, and a full live orchestra, this is your cue to grab seats before they’re gone.

Poll: What Do You Actually Do During the Holiday Season?

You asked for more ways to get involved, so we kicked things off with our first-ever Cutest Pets Contest (yep, details are just below).

🎄 The Nutcracker Returns to Longmont — With a Special Twist

🎄 The Nutcracker Returns to Longmont — With a Special Twist

If your holiday season doesn’t feel official until Tchaikovsky starts playing and toy soldiers start marching, you’re in luck — The Nutcracker is back at Vance Brand Civic Auditorium. And yes, tickets are already disappearing faster than peppermint bark at Ziggi’s.

This year, the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and Boulder Ballet are bringing back three beloved performances, plus the treasured “Gentle Nutcracker” — a sensory-friendly show designed especially for individuals with special needs and their families. It’s one of the most heartwarming traditions in town, and seats fill fast every year.

Here’s the full lineup so you can snag your tickets before they vanish:

🎀 The “Gentle” Nutcracker (Sensory-Friendly)

📍 Vance Brand Civic Auditorium

Saturday, Dec 6 | 1–2 PM

🎟️ General Admission: $25 + $2 facility fee

→ A shortened, sensory-friendly version designed for guests with special needs. Lower sound, softer lights, and a relaxed environment make this a holiday gift in itself.

✨ Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker — Evening Performance

📍 Vance Brand Civic Auditorium

Saturday, Dec 6 | 4–6 PM

🎟️ $25–$57 + fees

→ The classic in all its shimmering glory — full choreography, full orchestra, full holiday magic.

🎄 Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker — Afternoon Performance

📍 Vance Brand Civic Auditorium

Sunday, Dec 7 | 2–4 PM

🎟️ $25–$57 + fees

→ The perfect matinee if you want to pair your ballet with brunch or cocoa downtown afterward.

Longmont Symphony Orchestra’s full season theme is Unity in Sound — and nothing unites us quite like this annual swirl of sugarplums, snowfall, and nostalgia.

Seriously… don’t wait. These shows do sell out.
