🌟 Longmont’s Hidden Hangouts: Music, Coffee & “Secret” Trails
Hidden Gems, Cozy Sips & Secret-ish Trails: Your Longmont Top 6
Happy Wednesday, Longmont!🧡
Ben here — reporting back with the results of last week’s “what should we spotlight next?” poll. The clear winner? “I want all of the above.” So today we’re doing exactly that: two hidden live music bars, two cozy coffee shops, and two local trails that feel like a secret. Consider this your mini choose-your-own-adventure guide for the next few weeks.
🏡 Poll: Do You Want a Real Estate Section?
We asked this way back when the list was tiny — but there are a lot more of you now. Should we start including a small real estate corner with interesting listings, neighborhood trends, and “what your money buys” around town?

Hidden Gems, Cozy Sips & Secret-ish Trails: Your Longmont Top 6
Shoutout to the 39% of you who voted for “I want all of the above.” Message received. 😂 So instead of choosing just one category, we’re giving you two picks each across live music bars, cozy coffee shops, and trails that feel like a secret.
Let’s make this a choose-your-own-Longmont-adventure kind of day.
🎶 Hidden Gem Live Music Bars
📍 526 Main St | ⏰ Live music Fri–Sat | 🎟️ Free
A true “blink and you’ll miss it” upstairs venue with singer-songwriters and indie bands. Cozy, intimate, and perfect for a night when you want music without the downtown chaos.
📍 1111 Francis St | ⏰ Rotating live music | 🎟️ Free
A neighborhood favorite with surprisingly great acoustics and regular live performers. Think relaxed energy, friendly regulars, and a pint that just tastes better when a local guitarist is playing.
☕ Cozy Coffee Shops You’d Actually Linger In
📍 419 Main St
Longmont’s go-to for serious espresso, soft lighting, and lingering-with-a-laptop vibes. You’ll stay longer than you planned — in a good way.
📍 620 3rd Ave
Warm, friendly, and perfect for curling up with a latte and a pastry. Bonus: it feels like you’re hanging out in someone’s ultra-aesthetic living room.
🥾 Local Trails That Feel Like a Secret
1) Rabbit Mountain — Eagle Wind Trail
📍 Between Longmont & Lyons
Rolling terrain, big views, and a loop that feels surprisingly wild for being so close to town. A favorite for sunrise and post-work resets.
📍 3001 Sandstone Dr
A sneaky gem with peaceful paths, open space views, and fewer crowds than your usual weekend hotspots. Great for a quick mental refresh with minimal effort.

Out of the Box: U-Haul Art, Punk Shows & Runway Nights Hit Downtown 🚚🎨
The Firehouse Art Center is flipping the script on First Friday with Out of the Box — a one-night mashup of fashion show, punk concert, and U-Haul art galleries on January 3, 2026 in downtown Longmont.
It’s one of the most creative, experimental nights Longmont’s seen — built to spotlight non-traditional, emerging, and underrepresented artists who don’t always fit into classic gallery walls.
Inside the Firehouse
5:30 p.m.: Doors open — $15 entry, re-entry allowed
6 p.m.: Avant-garde fashion show featuring local designers
7–10 p.m.: Live punk from We Are All Crooks, Aratik & Soneffs
Outside on 4th Ave (closed to traffic)
6–9 p.m.: 12 U-Haul Mobile Art Galleries — immersive, weird, political, playful, and everything in between
Food trucks parked alongside the moving truck galleries
9 p.m.: Community fire pit

Who’s behind it:
Firehouse Art Center, Outlaw Production Collective, Obra Arts, and the Longmont Creative District — plus a stacked lineup of local designers and artists.
Mark your calendar for Jan. 3 and plan a full downtown night: fashion, loud music, strange art in trucks, and a little symbolic bonfire therapy to kick off 2026.
