Happy Friday, Longmont!

While our gardens may be resting under winter skies, planning season is officially underway. This Saturday, neighbors from across the area will gather to swap seeds, share tips, and kick off the 2026 growing season together. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just seed-curious, this is one of those small, feel-good community events that reminds you why growing local matters.

Which type of seed is especially important for supporting local bees, butterflies, and birds in Colorado?

If you’re already dreaming about spring gardens while winter’s still doing its thing, this one’s for you. The 4th Annual Community Seed Exchange & Giveaway is back this weekend—bringing together local gardeners, pollinator lovers, and anyone who likes the idea of growing something from scratch.

🎉 4th Annual Community Seed Exchange & Giveaway

📍 Left Hand Grange / Niwot Hall — 195 2nd Ave, Niwot | ⏰ 11:00 AM–1:00 PM | 🎟️ Free (suggested $5 donation)

Hosted by the Niwot Garden Club, this feel-good winter gathering is all about swapping seeds, sharing garden wisdom, and connecting with fellow green thumbs. You’ll find:

  • 🌼 Native & pollinator-friendly wildflower seeds

  • 🥕 Colorado-adapted veggie varieties

  • 🍓 Fruit plants & perennial favorites

No seeds to bring? Totally fine. Come browse, learn, and chat with experts from People & Pollinators Action Network and CU Master Gardeners. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just seed-curious, you’ll leave inspired (and probably with pockets full of future plants).

And yes—it might snow. That’s kind of the tradition at this point. ❄️🌱
