Hey there, neighbor!

📚 Longmont Fun Fact: First in the State for Library Love

Back in 1871, Longmont opened Colorado’s very first public library, called Library Hall—with just 300 books! Today, Longmont still keeps the reading spirit strong with a great library system and indie gems like Barbed Wire Books and Used Book Emporium.

☕ Craving: Java Stop

Tucked inside the historic Imperial Hotel, Java Stop is Longmont’s OG coffee shop. Come for the muffins, stay for the art, and see if you can find the hidden gnomes. (Yep—gnomes.)

🎒 So… What Can You Do in Longmont?

Short answer: A lot. Long answer? Scroll on. Here’s your cheat sheet to the actually fun stuff around town.

🧀 AGRI-WHAT? AGRITOURISM.

We’re talking farm-to-table dinners, cheese-making classes (yes, seriously), and one of the best dang farmers markets in the state.

  • Pet a goat.

  • Learn what a curd is.

  • Then go to Cheese Importers, get a baguette, and pretend you’re in France.

🎨 CULTURE, BABY

Longmont punches way above its weight in art and entertainment.

  • Catch a symphony or a theater show without paying Denver prices.

  • Wander the downtown alleys for murals that’ll make your IG pop.

  • Hit up the Longmont Museum for rotating exhibits and family-friendly events.

Also: Art in Public Places is basically a scavenger hunt for grown-ups.

🍻 THE CRAFT CRAWL

This isn’t your average brewery scene. We’ve got:

  • Left Hand.

  • Oskar Blues.

  • A cidery.

  • A distillery.

  • And a trolley (yep, the Brewhop Trolley) that lets you hop between them like it’s your full-time job.

Hydrate. Then go again.

🏕️ OUTDOORSY STUFF

If you’re into doing things outside just to come back inside and brag about it—this section’s for you.

  • Paddleboarding at Union Reservoir.

  • Tubing the St. Vrain.

  • Hiking, biking, birdwatching, skydiving (!!!), golfing, and snowshoeing depending on the season and your energy level.

Pro tip: Dickens Farm Nature Area has free tubing and major chill vibes.

Whether you’re here for a weekend or you’re lucky enough to live here full time, Longmont’s got options—and they’re way cooler than you think. Go explore. Or don’t. (But like… do.)

🧠 Trivia Answer: C) Longs Peak

Longmont’s founders named the city after Longs Peak, the towering 14,000-footer they could see from town. The mountain itself was named for explorer Stephen H. Long—basically, this town’s been aiming high since day one. ⛰️

Catch you next week—same time, more tacos. 🌮
