Windstorm Hits Longmont, City Largely Spared
Strong winds tore through the Longmont area Wednesday, but the city avoided major damage, according to officials.
What happened:
Residents reported downed trees, damaged fences, flying trampolines, and wandering lawn furniture.
Longmont Power & Communications received 85 service calls, but overall call volume stayed normal.
Most residents kept power, thanks to the city’s locally owned electric utility.
Damage appeared less severe than in Boulder and nearby areas.
A high wind warning remains in effect for Friday, with another round of gusts expected.
Blustery and chaotic in spots, but Longmont dodged the worst — though a few trampolines didn’t.
See You on Main 🎁
This is the kind of event that reminds us why shopping local just feels better—warm vibes, friendly faces, and zero pressure to rush. Swing by, bring the kids, and soak up a little holiday magic before the end-of-year chaos kicks in. Catch you there, Longmont.
