About This Event

High Horse High Horse is a Boston/Lyons-based progressive-acoustic stringband breathing the energy of alternative rock into an indelible blend of Bluegrass, Old-time, and Folk magic with crisp vocals and virtuosic chops. Four friends with three bows, one pick, and great vibes deliver a rollicking romp as the band High Horse. Comprised of fiddler Carson McHaney, cellist Karl Henry, guitarist/banjoist G Rockwell, and bassist Noah Harrington; the band draws from their varied musical backgrounds to explore traditional and original songs and tunes from diverse folk traditions! Joy Adams & Gus Tritsch Perhaps better known as a founding member of Big Richard and Salomé Songbird, Joy Adams is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter with a deep love for oldtime fiddle tunes. Over the last few years, she has performed at Red Rocks, on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, PBS, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and the film scores to Netflix shows Godless and the Queen’s Gambit. Recently she took some time off the road to record an analog album of all original songs joined by Gus Tritsch, a Pennsylvania-based multi-instrumentalist who has played the Kennedy Center, NPR’s Tiny Desk series and toured internationally with Jake Blount, and can usually be found performing all over the northeast with his band The Wild Shoats. Together, the two blend their voices in a diverse collection of original songs and oldtime music.
