Classically trained and soulfully inclined, Northern Colorado singer-songwriter Judah Lourde embarks on her freshman release with the composed musicianship of an artist beyond her years. The only daughter to Nepalese immigrants, Lourde has spent the last four years based in LA, crafting the extended play presently known as “Favorite American Whore” - a politically personal deconstruction of the femme fatale. Now aged 22, armed with a lawless indie alternative sound and blithely unafraid disposition, Lourde prevails beyond her resentment in something much larger than any definable genre or writing style. “Favorite American Whore” is the hunting ground for songs that soar with a hopeful conviction grounded in personal truth, detailing the rage of a young woman way out of her depth in this life and world. A powerful and nuanced singer, accomplished multi-instrumentalist, and articulate lyricist, she addresses the mental, the political and the personal with equal sensitivity and virtuosity.
