Program: Meilina Tsui - Floridian Symphony Zimmer - Lion King Suite Mahler Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” performed in a slightly abridged version Accessibility seating available on the main level of Grace Commons. Boulder Symphony & Music Academy launches the 2025–26 season with a concert that celebrates transformation, hope, and renewal through three powerful soundscapes. The evening begins with Floridian Symphony by rising-star composer Meilina Tsui, a vibrant new work that captures the ever-shifting beauty and mystery of nature — from dazzling sunshine to stormy waves — in music that feels both fresh and timeless. From there, audiences will be swept into the unforgettable melodies of Hans Zimmer’s Lion King Suite, a lush orchestral celebration of one of the most beloved film scores of our time. With its soaring themes, African-inspired rhythms, and unforgettable choral writing, this music connects generations through its spirit of courage, family, and belonging. Anchoring the program is Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection”, one of the most moving and transformative works in the symphonic repertoire. Mahler’s journey from darkness to radiant triumph — from funeral march to transcendent choral finale — remains a breathtaking musical and spiritual experience. Together, these works create an opening night of emotional depth, epic sound, and unforgettable storytelling. Resurrection is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of life, legacy, and the enduring power of music to uplift, awaken, and inspire.
