About This Event

Hold onto your hats—this is not your average orchestra concert. The Good, The Bad, and the Music is a wild, family-friendly, Old West musical adventure where the show gets “held up” by a notorious outlaw: Filbert Swineslapper of Mudtuckle, Texas, a sore loser from the infamous “Best Conductor in the West” competition. When Filbert storms the stage and tries to take over the orchestra (armed with a dangerously dramatic recorder), the Sheriff of Musical Harmony, Harmony Holiday, rides in to restore order… and turn chaos into collaboration. Along the way, kids don’t just watch—they join the posse: singing a cowboy chorus (“Cowboys Ride”), clapping along, helping conduct, and learning what conductors actually do: keep time, study the music, and communicate so an entire orchestra can play together as one. With cinematic Western flair, big laughs, and plenty of audience participation, this concert becomes a hilarious (and surprisingly heartfelt) story about perseverance, teamwork, and the courage to keep trying even when something is hard. Featuring music inspired by the Wild West and beyond—including iconic sounds like The Magnificent Seven, William Tell Overture, Maple Leaf Rag, Copland’s Hoe-Down, and Indiana Jones—this is a high-energy, screen-and-sound spectacular with live musicians, projected visuals, and interactive moments designed especially for families. Perfect for kids, parents, and anyone who likes their symphony served with a little yee-haw.
