Trouble’s Braids is a musical duo from Boulder, Colorado that creates dynamic folk music with teeth. Their first EP, The Big Tourist, has been featured in Westword Magazine, Business Insider, numerous radio shows, and a number of podcasts. They have been featured artists at the Boulder Theater, Roots Music Festival, KRFC Radio, KGNU Boulder, The St. Julien Hotel, Gold Hill Store, Trident, Highlands Street Festival, Rock Inn, Spirit Hound Distillery, and many others, with a show at the legendary Globe Hall slated for January 2026. Trouble’s Braids combines poignant lyricism, rich female and male harmonies, and great hooks with an unflinching curiosity about the unique and hidden corners of the human experience, all with a wink and a nod that invites the audience to come play. The pair’s influences are broad and deep, drawing inspiration from classic songwriters like Bob Dylan, John Prine, and Lucinda Williams, as well as more contemporary acts like Big Thief, Mitski, The Decemberists, The Mountain Goats, PJ Harvey, Tom Waits and Nick Cave.
