About This Event

Niza Knoll Gallery’s contribution to the Month of Printmaking (Mo’Print) focuses on the inventive, tactile, and ever-surprising world of gelatin printing. Featuring Victoria Eubanks with Linda Armacost, Loretta Foyle, Janey Hubschman and Jon Lew, the show highlights how artists reinterpret this medium, pushing beyond its traditional boundaries to explore texture, layering, transparency, and chance. The public is invited to view the show during regular gallery hours, Thursday–Sunday, 1 – 4 p.m., and to the following special events: Third Friday, March 20, 5-8 p.m. Gelli Print Demo with Victoria Eubanks: Sat, March 21, 1-2:30 First Friday Artwalk: April 3, 5-9 p.m.  Gelatin printing is a monoprint method that utilizes a soft, reusable gel slab as the “plate”. Also known as Gelli printing in reference to the brand name of a gel plate, it allows for detailed impressions to be made using acrylic paints and mild pressure—no printing press required. While it is a highly accessible, beginner-friendly process, more advanced transfer and layering techniques can also be applied to create more complex works of art as demonstrated by this exhibition. Mo’Print is a celebration of the art of making original prints to inspire, educate and promote awareness in the Denver metropolitan area, the Front Range region, and throughout Colorado. The event is hosted every other year, alternating with the Month of Photography. Visit moprint.org for more information and a full schedule of events. Niza Knoll Gallery at 915 Santa Fe Drive specializes in intriguing conceptual exhibits featuring work by local and regional artists as well as private concerts, guest speakers and workshops. Regular gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday, 1 – 4 p.m., except for during the following district-wide art walks, First Friday, 5 – 9 p.m. and Third Friday, 5 – 8 p.m. Visit www.nizaknollgallery.com to view and purchase works online and for the most up-to-date calendar of events. ###
