About This Event

The Denver Theatre District activates a 16-block area of downtown Denver through interactive and experimental visual arts and cultural programming, providing artists with both a platform and financial support to share their work with the public. The DTD’s signature programs include Understudy, an arts incubator space; Night Lights Denver, a moving image program projected onto downtown landmarks after dark; and del, a downtown video screen featuring rotating arts and entertainment content. Our programming is free and open to the public year-round. Understudy is a 700-square-foot arts and culture incubator located within the Colorado Convention Center. It offers a free, centrally located platform for emerging artists to develop their practice. As a nontraditional gallery space, Understudy allows artists to push the limits of their work without the pressures of a commercial model, fostering more open, ambitious, and creatively challenging work. The tour will meet at “Man, Woman” by Fernando Botero at the entrance to the Galleria near the intersection of 14th Street & Curtis Street, and will be led by Annie Geimer, Director of Special Projects and Curator for the Denver Theatre District, and Rudi Cerri, Public Art Manager. This tour is free to attend, but registration is required. If you cannot attend after registering, please cancel your order to release your ticket so that another art lover may take your spot. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are rain or shine; should severe weather make conditions dangerous, Denver Public Art reserves the right to cancel or delay/pause the tour.
