Free Admission Day at the Colorado Railroad Museum

To celebrate our partnership with the SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) the Museum is proud to offer free general admission to all visitors select Thursdays throughout the year. Catch an optional train ride behind a Diesel Engine, inside vintage passenger cars! Grounds & exhibits open 9am to 5pm. Rides operate 10am to 3pm Admission: Free. Due to the growing popularity of SCFD Free Days at the Colorado Railroad Museum, all tickets for these dates must be reserved online in advance. In 2025, the Museum was overwhelmed with guests arriving in the early morning for SCFD Free Days. Entry lines were long, many train rides were delayed, and the parking lot briefly overflowed as well.
