Giselle is a classic Romantic-era ballet about love, betrayal, and forgiveness. A peasant girl, Giselle, falls in love with a man named Albrecht, not knowing he is a nobleman already promised to another. When his deception is revealed, Giselle is heartbroken and dies. In the second act, her spirit joins the Wilis—ghostly maidens who seek revenge on men—but her enduring love protects Albrecht, saving him from their deadly dance. Denver Academy of Ballet offers an atmosphere of growth and learning through dance training for children and adults.
