Interdependence Day Celebration

All the stuff you love about 4th of July, with none of the stuff you might not. For the third year in a row, we are celebrating how much we rely on each other, how our neighborhood heroes past and present keep us safe and inspired, and how truly interconnected we all are. It’s a cookout with lots of entertainment. And it’s in the morning/midday, so you can still do your fireworks with family in the evening if that’s your thing. It’s a family-friendly event with lots of activities, so bring the whole crew. Bring a blanket and any park toys you like and let’s celebrate how much we rely on each other, how our neighborhood heroes past and present keep us safe and inspired, and how truly interconnected we all are. Details are to come, but here are some things to expect: • Delicious food from a local chef • Live music • Poetic performance • Celebration of local heroes with special artwork • Henna • A super low-key chalk art contest. Prizes for winners! • Games and activities for all-ages, including button making and sun prints, and a giant parachute. • We invite everyone to bring in names of people (past, present, and future) who show us how caring for one another builds and keeps our communities strong.
