Myth Takes presents ceramic sculptures and digital art that explore the misunderstandings shaping humanity’s relationship with the natural world, where perception often blurs the line between truth and illusion. Inspired by ancient mythology, the work is colorful, whimsical, and often humorous, yet beneath its lively forms and textures lies a deeper question: how do the stories and myths we create in challenging times shape our understanding of nature—and how do they influence the ways we seek to explain, justify, and manage forces beyond our control? About the Artist Mike Keene received a BFA from the University of Texas and an MA from the University of Northern Colorado. His narrative sculptures contain original carvings and hand-built clay constructions using multiple techniques and textures created with unique carved roller stamps and painted glaze finishes. He has shown in many galleries and art venues around the state and across the nation.
