National Tap Dance Day 2026

About This Event

Celebrate the art of tap dance! Come early and tappers ages 12 and up can take tap classes and join a tap jam. Afterward, enjoy a curated selection of short, family-friendly tap dance films from around the world alongside performances by local dance companies. All ages are welcome to any and all of the scheduled events. Come tap with us! Registration: This event is FREE of charge. We only ask that you register for all of the events you plan to attend, and also select the number of attendees for which you are registering for each event. Food and drink: Beverages and desserts will be provided, but if you plan to stay for the entire event, we encourage you to bring your own meal. Inclusivity: We’re committed to making this event an inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone. If you need any adaptations to participate – such as ASL interpretation, verbal description, seated dance options, or other support – please reach out to [email protected] and let us know what would be helpful. We have an adaptive dance specialist on our team who will work with you to ensure you feel confident and fully supported throughout the festival. Tap classes (4-5pm) for ages 12 and up: Beginner Tap with Michelle Bernier, Justin Boccitto, and Kaitlyn McMorran OR Intermediate Tap with Dani Champagne, Emily Jones, and Jenna Roe Open level tap jam (5-6pm): All are welcome – let’s jam! Short film screening and live performances (6:30-8pm) Next it’s time to rest and enjoy 50 minutes of short tap dance related films – curated by Sans Souci Festival – and live performances including work from Common Sound, Rocky Mountain Rhythm, Essential Dance, and more
