About This Event
Curator and artist Megan Morgan is proud to celebrate printmakers who chart their own creative terrain, in a Month of Printmaking (Mo’Print) exhibition at The People's Building, 9995 E. Colfax Avenue, Aurora. The show, entitled “OFF-PRINSTE”, plays on the term “off-piste,” meaning to venture beyond the marked trail. This show highlights experimental, hybrid, and unconventional approaches to printmaking driven by innovation, material curiosity, and a willingness to take creative risks. Their work transforms printmaking from a practiced discipline into an adventurous journey that maps new territories of surface, material, and imagination. The show is open to the public on four dates only, where they can view the show, purchase work and meet the printmakers: Opening Reception - Friday, March 6, 5-8 p.m. Gallery Open and Artist Demo - Saturday, March 21, 12-5 p.m. Closing Reception - Friday, April 3, 5-8 p.m. Gallery Open and Human Tapestry Artist Demo - Saturday, April 25, 12-5 p.m. Human Tapestry is a free, hands-on activity where community members create simple human-shaped prints using gel plates and nontoxic inks. Each printed figure becomes part of a growing collaborative textile, representing the many individuals who come together to build the work. This activity is open to all ages and focuses on curiosity and trying something new, not perfection. Free and open to the public Kids, adults, and families are welcome to experiment together. All materials provided. Drop in anytime during the demo time, work at your own pace and take part for just a few minutes or stay longer. For more information, visit bit.ly/humantapestry.
