Job Description
Summary: This position performs routine manual in dry goods on behalf of the purchasing department that include, but is not limited to operating a forklift, the efficient storage and dispatch of product, crediting/debiting stock control to ensure inventory accuracy. It ensures all product is properly labeled and the work area is maintained and clean. Maintain necessary communications and paperwork to verify quality and accuracy of products placed into, or removed from, inventory. Collaborates with coworkers and operations support production and ensure product traceability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identifies and pulls from inventory needed materials and distributes them as needed. Debits or credits inventory as directed to ensure an adequate on-hand inventory and the timely ordering of replenishment. Coordinates with supervisors to ensure proper flow of inbound or outbound product. Verify receipts of products received. Ensures charges are being put in appropriately for orders. Properly and timely files paperwork as instructed.
• Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices. Ensures all products are correctly stacked, labeled, and organized for ease of use and inventory purposes. Follows all specified SOP’s, GMP’s and safety policies and practices. Assures work areas are (i.e. clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required.
• Performs equipment operations that may include maintaining cleanliness of equipment and maintaining proper storage and charge. Remains engaged and active in the avoidance and observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary. Must be committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
• Supports and complies with all policies and procedures that ensure food safety, including cleanliness and housekeeping in all work areas. This includes responsibility for Safe Quality Food (SQF) for BRC compliance, HACCP, CCP tasks, sanitation, and all support program implementation.
• Develop a functional knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM), product codes, BRC audits, inventory control functions, report discrepancies and remedy, physical inventory counts, sales orders, and inventory transfers.
• Monitors assigned work areas for loss prevention, risk management, USDA compliance, and labor/employee relations promptly addressing or escalating issues or concerns. Promotes department and company goodwill through proactive employee communication and employee involvement. As an active participant, champions training & development and retention of qualified talent.
Education/Experience:
• High School or GED required, with one years of inventory experience in commercial food operations, preferably in an inventory role or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as letters, memoranda, invoices, policies, and other documentation.
• Competent mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals accurately. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage correctly. Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with operational-level process issues.
• Must be willing and able to obtain Company sponsored powered industrial truck certification (i.e. forklift).
• Requires the ability to stand for the majority of the shift and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety equipment) such as hard hats, hair/beard nets, earplugs, etc. Must be able to repetitively lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds while exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced cold/cool environment. May help lift up to 80 lbs. with assistance.

This position also participates in vacation and sick leave pay programs. The pay range for this position is $19.40 to $20.18 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
