Materials & Logistics Lead (Inventory, Kitting & Shop Ownership)

Job Title: Materials & Logistics Lead (Inventory, Kitting & Shop Ownership) Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive, "take-charge" individual to take full ownership of our Incoming Logistics, Kitting, and Shop Environment. This role is the "Front Gate" of our facility. You will be responsible for managing every item that enters the building—from heavy raw material to small hardware packages. Your goal is to create a streamlined system where deliveries are verified and staged into complete "Assembly Kits," ensuring that production remains uninterrupted and the office remains clutter-free. Key Responsibilities: • Department Ownership: You will design and manage a Central Staging & Kitting Area. You are the sole gatekeeper for all deliveries; no items are to be dropped on desks or in common areas. • Forklift Operation: Safe and proficient operation of a forklift to unload freight, move heavy material racks, and stage large stock for the machining centers. • Inbound Logistics & Auditing: Receive all incoming shipments (Raw Material, UPS, FedEx, Freight). Verify packing lists against purchase orders to ensure shipments are 100% complete. • Assembly Kitting: Organize hardware and components into dedicated kits. For example, if an assembly requires 10 different components, you will consolidate them into a single bin. Nothing moves to the floor until the kit is complete. • Material Precision & Labeling: Unload raw materials and verify dimensions using calipers and tape measures. Label every piece of material per part number and job number immediately upon arrival. • Shop Environment Lead: We maintain a "showroom" standard. You will lead daily upkeep, including mopping, trash removal, and sweeping. • Gatekeeping: You are the barrier that keeps clutter out of the office. You ensure items go to their designated "Kit Zone," not the nearest flat surface. Qualifications & Skills: • Forklift Experience: Proven ability to operate a forklift safely in a tight shop environment. • The "Owner" Mentality: You don't wait for instructions. You see a pile of boxes and immediately begin consolidating and kitting them. • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable and accurate using calipers or tape measures to verify material diameters and lengths. • Physical Stamina: Ability to be active throughout the shift, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
