Weāre opening voting for Arvadaās best breweries ā Olde Town hangouts, hidden gems, and the spots that just feel like your go-to.

Need a brain break?
Play trivia, crosswords, and word searches built just for locals. These games arenāt just fun...theyāll test how well you actually know your city. Great for killing time, learning something new, or proving youāre the true local legend.
Craving: Lot One
Upscale vibes without the upscale attitude. Lot One is a go-to for elevated comfort food, solid cocktails, and a great patio setup (fireplace included š„). Think burgers, street tacos, brunch favorites, and a drink menu that makes it easy to stay awhile.

High-flying kites + a 100-year celebration

Sunday, April 12 is doing a lot in the best way possible.
First up, the Arvada Kite Festival is back at Stenger Sports Complex from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is one of the cityās biggest annual events, and if youāve never been, itās exactly what you think it is⦠but bigger. Hundreds of kites in the sky, families spread out on blankets, and that classic āstay longer than you plannedā kind of vibe.
You can bring your own kite or grab one there, then spend the day watching demonstrations from the Rocky Mountain Kite Association, wandering through 100+ local vendor booths, and working your way through more food trucks than last year. Thereās also a full lineup of free kid-friendly activities like face painting, inflatables, and hands-on exhibits from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
A few quick tips:
Parking opens at 10:45 AM and fills up fast
Free bike valet is available (honestly the move)
No pets or grills allowed
Then, just a few minutes away in Olde Town, youāve got something completely different but just as worth checking out.
The Arvada Flour Mill is celebrating its 100th birthday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This one leans more local and low-key, but in a good way. Think live music, bread baking contests, milling demos, and a chance to actually learn a bit about Arvadaās history without it feeling like a history lesson.
Itās also part of the America 250 and Colorado 150 celebrations, so thereās a little extra meaning baked into it (literally).
If you plan it right, you can hit both. Start with kites, swing through Olde Town, and call it a full Sunday.
