Cravings: Rheinlander Bakery 🇩🇪🍰
A true Olde Town classic, Rheinlander Bakery has been serving Arvada for over 60 years with traditional German pastries and an impressively inclusive dessert lineup. Think apple and cherry strudels, poppyseed rolls, streusel cakes, and seven overflowing display cases that make choosing just one thing nearly impossible. Bonus points: their gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and sugar-free options are just as tempting as the originals—and yes, there’s espresso too.

❄️ Polar Prowl: Fast Miles, Big Cheers, Peak Arvada Energy
If you’re kicking off 2026 with a race (or just a loud cowbell), the Polar Prowl is your move. This winter classic is Arvada's first half marathon of the year and one of the most spectator-friendly races around — meaning runners get PR potential and fans get repeat high-fives.
🏃♀️ The Main Event
Polar Prowl
📅 Saturday, January 10, 2026 | ⏰ 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Stenger Sports Complex — 11200 W 58th Ave
🎟️ $48.70 | Distances: 5K • 10K • Half Marathon
Why it’s a favorite: a flat, fast course along the Van Bibber Creek Trail (hello, PRs), BOLDERBoulder qualifying status, and a layout that lets spectators see the action up close — half marathoners cruise past the prime cheering zone three times. Add in a penguin costume contest (yes, prizes), and you’ve got peak winter race vibes.
🚗 Parking pro tip: Enter from Quali St & 58th Ave and use the west lot. The lot locks at 1 PM, so plan your post-race hangs accordingly.
Whether you’re racing, cheering, or just there for the costumes, this is how Arvada does winter right.

👉 Answer: B) An early Arvada pioneer and settler
The Van Bibber Trail is named after Isaac Van Bibber, who established a farm in the area around 1859. Today, the trail connects into 24+ miles of regional paths, offers paved, gravel, and dirt sections, and delivers some of the best views of North Table Mountain — all while continuing to expand toward Golden.
