🎊 Cinco de Mayo Festival Takes Over Downtown Denver
Denver’s annual Cinco de Mayo Festival returns to Civic Center Park on May 2–3, bringing two full days of culture, community, and celebration to the heart of downtown.
📍 Civic Center Park
⏰ Saturday & Sunday | 10 AM – 8 PM
🎟️ Free Admission
Here’s what you can expect this weekend:
🎶 Live entertainment across three stages — from traditional performances to high-energy bands and dance groups.
🌮 Local food vendors everywhere — expect tacos, elotes, churros, aguas frescas, and enough good smells to completely derail your “I’ll just grab one thing” plan.
👨👩👧 Family-friendly activities — games, performances, and plenty of things for kids to enjoy throughout the park.
🛍️ Local artisan vendors — handmade goods, art, jewelry, and small businesses from across the community.
💃 A celebration with deep roots in Denver — this festival has been a Colorado tradition for decades and continues to bring people together across generations and cultures.
And honestly, events like this matter in Denver.
Cinco de Mayo celebrations help showcase the city’s strong Mexican and Latino communities, which have shaped Denver’s culture, food scene, music, art, and neighborhoods for generations. Festivals like this aren’t just big weekends downtown — they’re opportunities to celebrate heritage, support local businesses, learn history, and bring different communities together in one shared space.
It’s also one of those weekends where Denver feels especially alive. Civic Center fills with music, families, dancing, and people who maybe haven’t touched a dance floor since last Cinco but suddenly become salsa professionals for approximately six minutes 💃
If you’ve never been before, this is the year to go.
