🌌 Civic Center STARGAZE: Big Skies, Downtown Vibes

🌌 Civic Center STARGAZE: Big Skies, Downtown Vibes

Who says you have to leave the city to explore the universe? Civic Center STARGAZE brings the cosmos straight to downtown Denver with an all-ages astronomy night that’s equal parts educational and magical.

Hosted by Civic Center Conservancy in partnership with AstroTours, this evening invites you to peer through multiple high-powered telescopes, learn about constellations and their folklore, and get up close with the moon and other celestial sights—all guided by skilled astronomers who know how to make space feel approachable (and cool).

Stargazing in the middle of a city usually comes with challenges, but this event has a workaround written in the stars. Thanks to expert guidance and professional-grade equipment, participants can still enjoy impressive views of celestial bodies right from Civic Center Park.

📍 Civic Center Park

⏰ 6:30–8:30 PM

🎟️ $5 per person | Kids under 5 are free with an adult ticket

Food and drink vendors will be on site, making it easy to turn your stargazing session into a cozy winter night out. On January 28, Karun Cafe will be serving hot and iced beverages, empanadas, and freshly baked treats—perfect fuel for a night under the stars.

This event is designed to be welcoming for all ages. Adult supervision is required for kids 12 and under, and timed entry tickets are strongly recommended—STARGAZE events often sell out in advance.

Weather note: Stargazing is weather-dependent. In cases of heavy cloud cover or inclement conditions, make-up dates or ticket transfers may be offered.

🌳 About Civic Center Park

Civic Center Park is more than just Denver’s front lawn—it’s the cultural heart of the city. Framed by the Colorado State Capitol, Denver Art Museum, and City & County Building, the park regularly transforms into a hub for festivals, markets, concerts, and community events.

STARGAZE is a perfect example of what Civic Center does best: turning an iconic public space into an unexpected experience. One night it’s history and politics—another night, it’s planets and constellations.
