Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 177,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.
As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

🔥 FoCo Stays Ready: Quick Fire Update + What to Know
FoCo had a bit of a scare last week—but this is one of those moments where preparation really paid off.
Here’s the good news first:
No homes were damaged in the fast-moving wildfire that sparked near the Ponds subdivision on April 23. The fire burned about 8.4 acres in Maxwell Natural Area, and while it did reach the backyard of one home, crews were able to protect every house in the area.
Firefighters moved fast—setting up in driveways and backyards along nearby streets to keep things contained. One firefighter was treated for minor burns and has since been released, and no other injuries were reported.
Evacuation alerts were sent out quickly too:
Mandatory alerts: 889 devices
Voluntary alerts: 7,446 devices
It’s a solid reminder of how quickly things can change—but also how dialed-in local response teams are.
🌬️ Why You’re Hearing About Fire Restrictions
With dry conditions sticking around, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are currently in effect across Fort Collins and much of Larimer County.
This isn’t a full ban—but it does mean being more mindful with anything that could spark a fire.
🚫 Not allowed:
Fireworks (yep, all of them)
Burning trash or open fires without a permit
Tossing cigarettes outside
Equipment without proper spark protection
✅ Still okay (with caution):
Gas grills + fire pits
Fires in approved containers
Smoking in enclosed/cleared areas
Welding (with safety measures)
This isn’t about panic—it’s about awareness.
We live in a place where trails, open space, and foothills are part of everyday life… and situations like this are a reminder that staying a little more mindful right now goes a long way.
So keep enjoying the sunshine, the patios, and the outdoors—just maybe double-check that grill, skip the fireworks stash, and stay alert.
FoCo showed up this week—fast response, strong communication, and a community that looks out for each other. 💛
