Happy Monday, FoCo fam,

This week’s calendar is looking a little more colorful than usual, and honestly, the city might be at its best when creativity takes over every corner. From unexpected pop-ups to late-night events and hands-on experiences, there’s a lot happening behind the murals — and you’re going to want to see what everyone’s talking about.

What’s Happenin’ is growing — want to join us?

Last month our local newsletters across Boulder, Arvada, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Denver were opened 275,000+ times by locals looking for things to do and places to go.

As we continue to grow, I’m looking to add one or two people to help with partnerships with local businesses.

If you love supporting local businesses and want to help grow these newsletters, just reply to this email and tell me a little about yourself.

🎨 Art Week Fort Collins Is Taking Over Downtown

🎨 Art Week Fort Collins Is Taking Over Downtown

Downtown Fort Collins is getting a full creative glow-up this week.

Art Week Fort Collins, presented by the Fort Collins Mural Project, runs Friday, May 1 through Saturday, May 9, bringing murals, workshops, live performances, film, fiber arts, artist talks, open studios, and hands-on experiences all across the city.

Basically: if you’ve been waiting for a sign to leave the house and do something artsy, colorful, and very FoCo-coded… this is it.

The week includes a mix of free experiences, ticketed tours, creative workshops, live music, community gatherings, and pop-up moments, with something for almost every age and interest.

A few highlights to keep on your radar:

  • 🎨 10x10 Exhibition Opens — May 4 at Visit Fort Collins

  • 🚶 Public Art Walking Tour — May 5 at 10:30 AM

  • 🧘 Yoga at MoA — May 5 at 5:30 PM

  • 🎤 FoCoMA Music Trivia — May 6 at The Lyric

  • 🎬 Cult Movie Night on Old Town Square — May 7

  • 🐶 Paint with your Pup — May 9

  • 🎪 Circus on the Square — May 9

And the grand finale? The FCMP 10x10 Exhibition on Saturday, May 9 from 6:30–10 PM at Visit Fort Collins. Expect live music, artist testimonials, a silent auction, beer and wine, light refreshments, limited-run merch, a Polaroid photo booth, and plenty of “I should’ve bought that piece” energy.

Even better: Art Week supports the Fort Collins Mural Project’s mission to create more public art opportunities for local, emerging, and underrepresented artists.

So whether you’re a gallery wanderer, mural hunter, workshop person, live music fan, or just someone who likes an excuse to stroll Downtown with friends — Art Week is your permission slip to explore, experience, and maybe even create something yourself.
