The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is rolling out one of the coolest holiday shows in town, and it’s the perfect way to mix learning with holiday magic (and keep everyone warm and entertained for an hour).

❄️ Snow Dome: Holiday Fun and a Sneaky Science Lesson

❄️ Snow Dome: Holiday Fun and a Sneaky Science Lesson

Looking for something that feels festive and counts as “educational” in your parent brain? The Snow Dome: A Holiday Music Experience at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is basically that sweet spot. Kids get the WOW factor of the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater — giant screen, surround sound, swirling visuals — while you get the satisfaction of sneaking in a little STEAM learning about sound, space, and visuals.

From November 28 through December 31, FCMoD is running Snow Dome on weekdays at 2:45 PM and weekends at 3:30 PM, with tickets just $6. The show pairs favorite wintry songs (yes, Mariah is in the mix) with 360-degree animations that turn the dome into a giant snow globe. It’s short enough to hold younger kids’ attention, cool enough that older kids won’t roll their eyes, and the perfect way to break up a long winter day off school.

Make it a mini outing: explore a couple museum exhibits before or after the show, let the kids burn off energy, and then head home feeling like you’ve checked both “holiday fun” and “learning activity” off the list.

FoCo Restaurants Gear Up for Football Championship Crowds 🏈🍽️

With the CHSAA state football championships taking over Canvas Stadium this weekend, Fort Collins restaurants are bracing for a big spike in visitors — from players and families to fans from across Colorado.

Major events at CSU bring real economic impact to nearby locally owned restaurants, especially those within walking distance of the stadium.

What businesses are seeing:

  • Nick’s Restaurant & Bar, right across from campus, expects packed lunch and dinner rushes — just like last year.

  • Owner Nick Doyle says CSU events are essential: “We get a lot of people coming in before and after games. It’s great for business.”

  • Spots like Krazy Karl’s Pizza are even serving inside the stadium itself.

CSU has expanded its use of Canvas Stadium — concerts, rodeos, movie nights, and now high school championships — turning it into a consistent driver of foot traffic for local eateries.

High school championships bring statewide visitors, giving many Coloradans a first look at Fort Collins’ food scene and downtown charm.

Doyle hopes the football championships stay in Fort Collins for decades: “It’s a great way to showcase how cool this town is.”
